During the custom ring process, we work directly with you to create a design that embodies your love and commitment and tells your unique story.
There’s no right answer when it comes to design. A custom ring can be in any style. It can be as simple and delicate or eye-catching and vibrant as you prefer, and we’ll help you create a piece that’s truly special and unique to your love.

It’s also a wonderful option for those who aren’t exactly sure what they’re looking for. How the custom ring process works
Is this your first time buying custom jewelry? Unsure what to expect from the custom ring design process? Don’t worry — most of our customers are new to the experience. We’re here to guide you every step of the way to create the perfect ring for your special someone. (In fact, we’re known for it!)

Our custom ring process typically takes 3 to 5 weeks. Here’s what you can expect.
1. Getting to know you
Before we show you a single diamond or band, it’s important for us to get a sense of who you and your future fiancé are and what you envision for your ring. If you’re not sure what you’re looking for, that’s perfectly okay! We’re here to help you explore styles, discover your preferences, and create a ring that expresses your love.
2. Starting the process
The design process begins with a discussion of your vision. Don’t worry if you don’t have one yet — we’ll help you discover your unique style and taste as we go. We’ll begin sketching out ideas for the design of your custom ring.
3. Visualizing the ring
Once we have a direction for your ring, it’s time to visualize it. We use a computer-aided design program to give you several true-to-life views of your future ring. This includes images and video! We’ll discuss any changes or alterations you want based on this preview.
4. Choosing the perfect diamond
It’s time to find the perfect diamond for your custom ring. We’ll take you through the 4 Cs of diamonds (clarity, cut, color, and carat) and answer any questions you have about choosing the right gem for your ring. Then, we’ll show you a variety of diamonds and help you select the right one (or more) for your custom ring design. Remember: we offer ethically-sourced natural and lab-grown diamonds.
5. Designing the setting
After you’ve chosen a diamond, the next step is designing a setting that beautifully complements and enhances it. Setting refers to how the diamond is mounted into the band. While the diamond is the focal point of the ring, the setting is equally important to its overall appearance, since the setting determines how the diamond is highlighted on your loved one’s finger.
6. Creating a wax mold
Using the finalized design, we’ll print a 3D wax form of your ring. You’ll come in to review this mold in person and we can discuss any concerns, changes, or alterations. From there, it’s time to cast, set, and finish the piece in the metal of your choice!
7. Crafting the ring
The final step of the custom ring process is to turn your vision into a reality. Our jewelers will painstakingly craft your custom ring using the elements you selected during the design process. Whether you’ve chosen a vintage or designer look, or you’ve opted for something less traditional, the finished ring will be completely original and truly special. After all, you put your time, energy, and love into designing it.
